Not just Djokovic, another big name declares forfeit for Basel

Carlos Alcaraz also declares forfeit for the Basel ATP 500

Following Novak Djokovic’s forfeit, world number two Carlos Alcaraz will also not take part in the Basel ATP 500, which will be held Oct. 21-29. The Spanish player, in fact, announced through his social profiles that he has suffered a double injury to his left foot and on the gluteal area. 

"I have a problem in the plantar fascia of my left foot and a fatigue in the gluteal area that need treatment to be able to play the rest of the season" these are the words of the Murcian on Instagram.

However, the feelings would be positive, asé it would be a precautionary stop in an effort to get to top form at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled from November 12 to 19.

In conclusion, Carlos Alcaraz's presence for the last Masters 1000 of the season in Paris-Bercy still remains in doubt.
