Virtus Bologna on Saturday updated fansand insiders on the condition of Achille Polonara and the next steps that the basketball player from the Marche region will have to face in the coming weeks.

"Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.A. announces that Achille Polonara will beginà in the next few days a cycle of adjuvant chemotherapy that will keep him away from competitions for at least 4 weeks – reads the note -. Polonara è had surgery, successfully, last Oct. 10 to remove a neoplasm. The basketball player himself had reassured everyone on Instagram, the day before his surgery: "Thank you all for the many messages! Everything will be fine…see you soon".
