Yamaha centaur Fabio Quartararo cannot hide his frustration at finishing 14th in Phillips Island. His M1 instead of evolving seems to get worse with each passing Grand Prix.
"There are no positive points this weekend. Usually I am a rider who tries to adapt to the bike, but this weekend things were so difficult that we had to do something new. We tried them all but it è was not enough".
"Is Yamaha relying on winter developments to get back to the top? We need 15 winters to be at the same level as our rivals…. The problem è that in recent years we may have gained in one area, but lost in others. At one time the bike was slow, but it cornered amazingly well. Now è it is always slow, and it doesn't curve like before".
"We have made progress with the engine, but so have the others and the difference è the same. The others però have also made progress with chassis and aerodynamics. In 2024 we cannot fight for the World Championship, we have to be realistic".
On his future: "I need to see progress, for me è it is important to know how much they want to win. I want a winning project".
