Marc Marquez to Ducati, Casey Stoner has his say
Two-time MotoGP class world champion, one with Ducati in 2007 and one with Honda in 2011, Casey Stoner, was present at the paddock of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island and did not fail to give his opinion on Marc Marquez’s move from Honda to Team Gresini’s Ducati. Here are the words of the 38-year-old Australian reported by corsedimoto.com.
“I am very surprised that Honda let Marc go. They should have tried to keep him at all costs. It will beà very difficult for HRC to find top talent on the market for its factory team. While Marc loses very little. He canà go to Gresini and see if he canò ride Ducati“.
“Marc’s departure è a blow to Honda. It will be difficult for them to attract new talent after so many negative things have been said about them lately. They need to get a rider with the’right approach, who is aware of what he has and who has to give his all with the bike they offer him“.
“The best thing would be to hire a young, fast and hungry rider. I would try to reinforce with a Moto2 talent. I like to talk about maturity and experience, but half the time that comes at a price. A guy who comes in with an’accumulated experience is very clear about what he wants”.
“The young man, hungry for success, è willing to do whatever it takes. I think he’s the right option for HRC. You don’t need a team leader unless è the right leader. You might think you need an experienced one to lead development, but sometimes the selfish streak comes out of the rider who thinks the team is not doing what they want“.
