Milan wins in tie-break, Paola Egonu beats Antropova
Allianz Vero Volley Milan defeated Scandicci 3-2 in the most eagerly awaited match of the third day of the A1 Women’s Volleyball Series.
Milan won with the partials of 27-25; 25-18; 25-27; 22-25; 16-14 at the end of a very tight match that was decided at the tie-break after the visiting team’s comeback. Paola Egonu in addition to the team victory è also won the confrontation with Ekaterina Antropova, the "rival" in the national team, thanks to a capital performance.
For Egonu, the points were an impressive 33, compared to 19 for the 20-year-old Antropova. For Milan, a good performance also by setter Alessia Orro, well the central Rettke with 13 points and the spiker Sylla with 9. For Scandicci, the central Nwakalor particularly shined, scoring 18 points.
In the standings, Vero Volleyball confirmed the clear path with three wins in three matches, ahead are Conegliano and Novara on 9 points.
