Fabio Cappelli died at 52, played in C1 and C2

He’ died Fabio Cappelli

Fabio Cappelli, a former soccer player for Montevarchi and Sangiovannese, among others, è died Monday, cut short by an illness while at a glassworks in Terranuova, Tuscany. He was only 52 years old.

A defender, he wore the Rondinella Firenze jersey in the late 1980s, in Montevarchi won the C2 championship in the 1994-95 season and, after an’experience at Sansepolcro, played six tournaments with Sangiovannese.

"We participate with extreme sorrow in the mourning that has struck the Cappelli family for the loss of Fabio. Class ’71 protagonist in Arduino Casprini’s Sangiovannese of the early 2000s, Fabio is leaving really too soon. We remember him with his teammates at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence. To his family, friends and fans the deepest condolences" the memory of the blue club.
