Bari, successful operation for Raffaele Maiello: long stop for midfielder
The long journey of rehabilitation now begins
It's perfectly successful the operation to which Bari midfielder Raffaele Maiello, who was injured in last Saturday's match that the Biancorossi drew against Modena, underwent. Now begins the long rehabilitation course, which should allow Maiello to return to the field at the end of March.
"SSC Bari announces that Raffaele Maiello è underwent surgery this morning to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee arthroscopically as a result of sprained injury sustained during the Bari-Modena match last Oct. 21" explained in a note released Wednesday by the club of the Apulian capital.
"The’surgery – we read further -, performed at the S.Francesco Hospital in Foggia by Dr. Battista Ippolito (SSC Bari orthopedic surgeon), in collaboration with Dr. Pietro Olivelli (anesthesiologist), è perfectly successful and the footballer, already from today, will start the appropriate rehabilitation path under the supervision of the biancorosso health staff. His return to competitive activity è estimated in about 5 months".
Maiello, class of 1991, è at Bari since January 2022: this season he has exceeded 60 total appearances in the biancorosso. He previously wore the shirts of Napoli, Crotone (in two separate periods), Ternana, Empoli and Frosinone.
