Napoli-Milan, Dino Zoff exposes himself on Alex Meret and Mike Maignan
The legendary Mundial goalkeeper '82 exposes himself on Meret and Maignan
With this week’s European interlude closed, the attention of insiders shifts to the next day of the championship and in particular to Sunday night’s big match that will see Napoli and AC Milan face each other at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Speaking to 'Radio Kiss Kiss' during the program 'Radio Goal', Dino Zoff è expressed himself on two potential protagonists of the evening, goalkeepers Alex Meret of Napoli and Mike Maignan of Milan.
"Meret and Maignan are already very strong – said the totem of Italian soccer, who defended the goal of the 1982 World Cup champion national team -, but they can still improve. Maignan è explosive, Meret perhaps has more technique, but they are both great goalkeepers" he added, expounding on the qualities of both.
Zoff also tried to make the cards to Sunday's match: "Milan has some little problems,” he said, “but if you leave spaces to Leao happens what happened last year in the Champions League. It's the whole match, if you manage not to give space to Leao for Napoli it will be easier. Milan’s strength è only Leao, who if he finds spaces becomes very dangerous".
Born in 1942, Zoff è one of the symbols of Italian soccer: he played as a professional for over twenty years, defending the posts of Udinese, Mantova, Napoli and Juventus as well as, for fifteen years, those of the national team. His career also continued as a coach on the benches of the Olympic national team, Juventus, Lazio, the senior national team (with the regret of the final lost at Euro 2000), again Lazio and Fiorentina. He is the only Italian to boast, at the national team level, the European and world titles.
