VR46, Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi in chorus: “Tomorrow will be a different story”
The words of Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi after the Sprint
.
Luca Marini and the Mooney VR46 Racing Team center their fourth podium of the season (the third in the Sprint, to which add P2 at the GP of the Americas ed) signing the third place under the checkered flag of the Sprint in Thailand. Another good placing for Marco Bezzecchi, sixth at the finish line and third in the overall standings with 297 points.
After a virtually perfect start from P2 on the grid riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP, Luca keeps the pace of the group fighting for the podium, demonstrating the’excellent step forward made in the free practice in the morning. He climbs to 155 points, thus confirming his eighth place in the overall.
More tiring sprint instead for Marco, who suffers from the high local temperatures. Fourth at the start, he is unable to climb up the rankings, fighting in the Top5 for the duration of the race before giving up right in the final.
"Today è everything went pretty much right: I started very well, I held the second position – stressed Marini to the team’s official channels -. I knew that with Brad (Binder ed) behind me I would not have an easy time. I hoped he would suffer more from the slipstream on the front tire, instead he always braked very very hard. I am happy, è the second podium in the Sprint in three consecutive races, it means we are working well. Tomorrow will be a’different story, with the hard behind, the handling will be different. It will not beà easy, but we will try".
"Not an easy day today, I suffered more than expected at the physical level – admitted Marini -. I struggled a lot right away, even at the start where I lost a lot of ground. Then in a race so ì fast è complicated to go up the ranking and at the moment at the start I can not do more. Almost immediately I had an overheating of the front tire, I had to manage myself not to make too many mistakes. Tomorrow will beà a different story: on the long run, given the pace, I am proportionally less worried about pain".
