Egan Bernal wants to return to the one from before 2022, the year of the very serious accident that almost cost him his life.

"I wake up every day thinking that I will be back to my best level. I want to have that mentalityà to be one of the best in the world becauseé otherwise I think I wouldn&’t continue to ride my bike as a professional, but I would retire. I think with that mentality; I can manage to be among the best again" he told cyclingnews.

"Not è something I can do currently, but when I was at my best, in 2019, I also won Paris-Nice and Tour of Switzerland, I was starting to win everywhere. I don’t think they have something I don’t have, or vice versa. All champions have a strong mentality. It would be nice to see my level compared to them in a normal situation. I don’t know if it will be possible after all that è happened, but è what I’m trying to achieve".
