Davis Cup, it will be Italy-Serbia: the rematch between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic is served
Serbia eliminates Great Britain: in the semifinals there'è Italy
Serbia has clinched a place in the Davis Cup semifinals: in Malaga, the two singles matches were enough to eliminate Great Britain, with Miomir Kecmanovic defeating Jack Draper 7-6(2), 7-6(6) and Novak Djokovic instead beating Cameron Norrie with a more net 6-4, 6-4.
In the semifinals, therefore, there will be, as predicted, the great challenge against Italy, which a few hours earlier got the better of them, with a few more struggles but the decisive contribution of Jannik Sinner to make the difference (in singles and doubles with Lorenzo Sonego) against the Netherlands.
Everything is set, then, for Saturday’s grand menu, which will most likely feature the third match in less than two weeks between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic: the two have faced each other twice at the ATP Finals in Turin, with the South Tyrolean winning in the group and the Serb succeeding in the final.
In the other semifinal, Finland and Australia will compete instead: the Northern European team beat, somewhat surprisingly, defending champion Canada while the Island-continent representatives got the better of the Czech Republic. Both challenges ended 2-1, thus decided by their respective doubles matches.
