The great victory comes with sensational data.

Jannik Sinner è managed to beat Novak Djokovic in singles in the Davis Cup, at the end of one of the most beautiful matches not only of his amazing 2023 but of his entire career. And that’s not è all, because è this success allowed him to enter history in another sense as well.

Sinner’s victory was in fact accompanied by the defeat of Djokovic, who però in the Davis Cup had not even lost in singles for 12 years. Since then he had won as many as 20 consecutive matches: the Serb’s previous knockout had come in 2011 against Argentina, a full 4451 days ago. È he is also the first tennis player to beat him twice during the same season since 2019 (at that time it was Daniil Medvedev who managed it).

Sinner beat Djokovic after nullifying as many as three consecutive match points (no one before him had ever succeeded) closing the score at 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 after 2 hours and 33 minutes of play.
