Adriano Panatta extols Jannik Sinner and the Azzurri
From the RAI studios, after following live the feat of Italy, capable of winning the Davis Cup 47 years after a success in which he himself was a prtagonist, Adriano Panatta è was the first to praise the work done by the Azzurri, extolling their team and individual skills.
"Italy è was the clearly strongest team, the boys did well" said the Italian tennis legend, who with Corrado Barazzutti, Paolo Bertolucci and Tonino Zugarelli composed the quartet that went to Chile to win what as of today is no longer the only Italian success in Davis".
Panatta also gave an unflinching judgment on Jannik Sinner, whose decisive point obtained thanks to a clear victory over Alex de Minaur enabled him to give Italy success: "At this moment è the number 1".
Italy won the Davis Cup not without difficulty at this final stage: the victories against the Netherlands and Serbia were achieved in a comeback after losing the first singles match, but thanks to a strong spirit of the team composed of Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Sonego, Matteo Arnaldi, Lorenzo Musetti and Simone Bolelli, led by non-player captain Filippo Volandri, è managed to overcome all obstacles (including a sacred monster like Novak Djokovic in the semifinals) to win the salad bowl.
