English soccer è in mourning for the passing of Terry Venables, one of the great stars of the '80s and '90s. The former England coach passed away at the age of 80 after a long illness, his family made known.
"We are totally devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband and loving father who è died peacefully yesterday after a long illness".
Terry Venables as a player played for Chelsea, Tottenham. QPR, Crystal Palace, winning an FA Cup and a League Cup. As a coach he led Crystal Palace, QPR and for a three-year period Barcelona, winning La Liga in 1985.
After four years at Tottenham (FA Cup in 1991), he coached the England national team for a three-year period, taking them all the way to the semifinals in the European Championship played at home.
