After Thomas Ceccon, Benedetta Pilato also gives joy to swimming Italy. The Taranto native, in fact, è imposed herself in the women’s 100 breaststroke at the Riccione Winter Absolute in Riccione, obtaining qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Italian swimmer recorded a time of 1:05.80, beating by 20 thousandths the time-limit set by the Italian Swimming Federation (1:06.0) to snatch the pass for the Olympics and touching the Italian record belonging to Arianna Castiglioni by only 13 thousandths.
Completing the podium were the Apulian swimmer herself (1:06.76) and Martina Carraro (1:06.78), who failed to find the right rhythm in the second pool, also failing to gain access to the World Championships in Doha by about two tenths.
