Jovic wakes up, Milan restarts: tris at Frosinone
Milan restarts after the painful knockout in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund: Pioli’s team, despite many injuries and absentees (Giroud, Leao and half of the defense out), folded 3-1 against Frosinone at the San Siro in the 14th day of the championship. Thanks to this victory Pioli breathes: the Rossoneri confirm their third place at 29 points, -4 behind first-place Juventus. Ciociari tenth at 18.
After a balanced start, Milan gradually took the field and hit a post on 35' with Musah (who was però offside). In the final part of the half the episodes that direct the match: Maignan è decisive coming out on Cuni at 42', and a minute later the Diavolo goes through with Jovic, finally scoring after a short clearance by Romagnoli on Chukwueze’s cross.
In the second half Pulisic immediately found the double at 50' with Pulisic, served by a brilliant throw from Maignan, and then came the tris at 74' by Tomori, on Jovic’s decisive bank. Milan hardly ever suffers and even the feared Soulé è kept at bay by an airtight defense led by Theo Hernandez, improvised central.
Among the positive news for Pioli was also the return of Bennacer after so many months, in at 80'80' for Reijnders. In the final the goal on a Brescianini free kick, an innocuous ball that is not touched by anyone and deceives Maignan. The hosts did not break down and brought home three golden points for morale.
