Milan-Mike Maignan: renewal in the balance, three top clubs at the window

A particularly hot topic at Milan è that related to the future of Mike Maignan, whose contract with the Rossoneri will expire on June 30, 2026. The Milanese management, in fact, given the centrality of the 1995-born goalkeeper in the squad available to Stefano Pioli, would already be working to find an agreement on the renewal.

According to reports from the French portal "Footmercato", the transalpine extreme defender has reportedly asked the club for a significant salary increase, so as to approach the salaries received by the best goalkeepers in the world. At the moment, the agreement between the parties has reportedly not yet been found, but contacts between the Rossoneri management and the player’s entourage are reportedly continuing on a regular basis.

Accomplice to this stalemate, several top European clubs would have already taken information and would be ready to make an assault on the former Lille player in case his contract is not renewed. There are three clubs that would be following the matter closely, namely PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Should an agreement not be found soon, Milan could decide to sell Mike Maignan already in the summer market session, so as to monetize as much as possible from his departure. The hope, however, for the Rossoneri would be to renew the 1995-class player’s contract, also complicit in the player’s willingness to remain in Milan.
