Alberto Razzetti, double silver and some regrets
Alberto Razzetti collects two European silver medals in one afternoon
An important day for Alberto Razzetti at the European short-tub swimming championships being held in Otopeni, Romania: in fact, the 24-year-old won the silver medal, on Friday afternoon, in both the 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter butterfly, in two finals that were contested at a very short distance.
In the 200-meter medley the gold è went to Duncan Scott, representative of Great Britain, who was able to close in 1:50.98, while the Italian athlete did not go beyond the time of 1:53.09. A result that had not left him not at all satisfied at the end of the race, as confirmed to the microphones of 'Rai Sport': "I got everything wrong that I could get wrong – he said -. Duncan è went very strong, forò I could do much more;, è it was a race that è started badly and ended badly. The silver however we take it home".
And another silver è then came in the 200 butterfly, this time behind the Swiss Noe Ponti: 1:49.71 was the latter's time, while Razzetti stopped the clock on 1:50.10. An even smaller gap, which increases a little bit the blue team's regret though; two continental medals in one day is still a very prestigious result.
On the Romanian afternoon, for Italy, è also came a bronze medal, won by Lorenzo Mora in the final of the 100-meter backstroke: a decidedly satisfactory result, achieved behind Frenchmen Mewen Tomac (gold with a time of 49.72) and Yohann Ndoye-Brouard (silver with 49.96). Mora, who finished with a time of 50.04, shares the bronze with Romanian Andrei Ungur, who finished the race with the same time.
