Slovenia’s Ilka Stuhec set the fastest time in the only time trial ahead of the women’s downhill in Val d’Isere (France) scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. Sixth, seventh and eighth times in the’order for a Sofia Goggia partially debilitated by a seasonal ailment, Marta Bassino and Federica Brignone.
Stuhec stopped the clock on’1’46”05 with a 0”22 margin over Swiss Jasmine Flury and 0”58 over’the other Swiss Corinne Suter while Sofia Goggia paid a 0”96 gap. In her wake, seventh time for Bassino (+0”98) and eighth for Brignone (1”13) tied with Austria’s Mirjam Puchner.
Good impressions also aroused by sisters Nadia and Nicol Delago, in 13th and 17th positions respectively, with Teresa Runggaldier 33rd, Monica Zanoner 39th, Roberta Melesi 45th, Laura Pirovano 49th and Elena Dolmen 53rd. As for the other main protagonists, fourth time for Lara Gut, while Mikaela Shiffrin preferred to forgo the French engagement.
