Albin Ekdal rescinds with Spezia
Swedish midfielder Albin Ekdal leaves Italian soccer after 15 years of almost continuous militancy.
The 34-year-old has terminated his contract with Spezia until June 2024 and is expected to return to his homeland in the coming days. Later this month he had already bid farewell to the national team.
He arrived at Juventus in 2008 at the age of 19 and has played 320 games in Serie A with the shirts of Juventus, Siena, Bologna, Spezia and especially Cagliari and Sampdoria, with whom he has put together 122 and 126 league appearances, respectively.
From 2015 to 2018 he played in the Bundesliga in Hamburg'Hamburg. Scarcely used in Spezia, now penultimate in the Serie B standings, the midfielder prematurely ended his relationship with the Ligurian club.
