During the press conference presenting Bertram Derthona’s new coach, Walter De Raffaele, è President Marco Picchi also spoke, revealing the length of the Leghorn coach’s contract: "The contract with Walter è until June 2025. I have learned, because by now I am beginning to call myself a fairly experienced executive, that contracts are pieces of paper that have to be filled out but are then often overtaken by what are the realities of the facts. At the moment è until June 2025, but considering also the urgency and the emergency with which è it was written, we did not dwell so much on the details but on the desire to start working right away".
"[De Raffaele's arrival] I think is a sign of how Derthona today is seen as a big club with big ambitions. We are used to marry new coaches with long-term projects and è that is what we want it to be. We want to build a new winning cycle" added the president of the Piedmontese team.
"I have to thank the availability of Dr. Gavio and Marco for thinking of me – the first words of the new coach of Tortona -. As I said, Derthona now represents an important club on the Italian scene and is becoming one at the European level as well. It did not take me long to choose, becauseé however, behind it there is a seriousness and solidity in the project that forced immediate reflection. It è never easy né to replace a good colleague like Marco, who has written important pages in this club. I know what it means. I found great willingness from everyone. Natural that at this time pointing out things that are going and not going is impossible on my part. I try to get to know as quickly as I can, but the thing I want to say è that there are so many components, starting with this Citadel, everything to be able to think about growing, moving forward, no matter how difficult the situation is now. From my side there'è a lot of enthusiasm, to do and to work".
"In these months I have been shooting a lot, my goal to start a new challenge was the idea of having something of design, of having the ambition to grow, to try to compete and win,” he added.

Was the first game as a sub the easiest or the hardest? I will tell you Saturday night (laughs). Goals? Now è to do the best we can. We have to look behind as well. The Italian championship è terrible. There are so many things to do. We have a play-in to play with Galatasaray. Now we have to think one game at a time, be humble and united in knowing that every game è important to get out of uncomfortable areas. I don’t think now is the time to do math or calculations, we are not in the condition to do that. We have to live one match at a time, now we think about Napoli and it will be a delicate match.
