Brescia shifts gears in resumption, Milan beaten

After three consecutive victories, EA7 Emporio Armani Milano’s attempt to climb up the standings is halted, beaten 72-64 by co-leader Germani Brescia in the challenge of the fourteenth day of Serie A.

È Olimpia got off to a decidedly better start so much so that it reached a +7 lead, the margin narrowed to +3, 18-15, at the end of the first quarter. Ettore Messina’s team stays mostly in front in the second quarter as well, but in the final quarter they are overmatched and Germani is ahead 33-32 at the long halftime.

In the resumption the hosts coached by Alessandro Magro immediately came back down with the score, even by -6, but then turned the situation around with a 17-78 partial that made them get to the last ten minutes ahead 52-48.

In the last quarter, an immediate 6-0 partial held off the defending champions who could no longer make a comeback, or rather they did until -3 but another 5-0 partial put the final exclamation point on the match. For rescia 18 points and 5 rebounds by C.J. Massinburg, 14 by Amedeo Della Valle and 13 più 11 rebounds by Miro Bilan, for the guests 18 points by Shabazz Napier.
