The long-awaited reinforcement for the defense è is very close to being finalized.

Isak Hien to Atalanta will be made during the January soccer session, after last summer’s false alarm. In fact, Verona’s tall Swedish center back è is set to move to Bergamo as early as the very first days of 2024. This will give Gian Piero Gasperini and especially the defenders currently at his disposal some breathing space: the Nerazzurri are in fact doing without long-suffering Toloi and Palomino, with Scalvini recently joining them in the infirmary.

According to reports Sunday from 'Sky Sport', the agreement between Atalanta and Verona è has been reached such that Hien is expected to undergo medical examinations over the next week. The goal è to have him already available against Roma next January 7. The deal will cost the Orobici about 9 million, including the transfer of a youngster from the Primavera or Under 23 team to the Adige shore.

Hien è set to tie himself to Atalanta with a contract valid until June 30, 2028. In the summer, Antonio Percassi’s management had gone so far as to offer about 12 million for the Stockholm-born defender from parents of Ghanaian and Burkina Faso descent. That figure at the time did not prove sufficient, but less than six months later they are moving toward a white smoke. Also thanks to the quid pro quo that from Bergamo will make the reverse journey in the direction of Verona.
