One win and one loss for Italy in the first round of the WTA 500 on the Australian cement in Brisbane. Camila Giorgi world number 53, beat US player Peyton Stearns, number 49, in a comeback with a score of 5-7 6-2 6-3, Martina Trevisan, number 42, lost 6-3 6-2 to Australian Arina Rodionova, number 114.
