The Marche player in the first set immediately lost her serve in the first game, then regained it after canceling a set point on 5-4, immediately afterwards she lost it again and had to surrender the partial set in the twelfth game after canceling three more set points. In the second set Camila flies to 3-0 and then to 5-1, loses one of the two break leads but then immediately takes it back, extending the match.

In the deciding set break and counterbreak in the first two games, then the blue player snatches the decisive serve from Stearns in the fourth game and closes the file after two hours and 41 minutes of play and after missing three match points. In the second round Camila will face Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko, the tournament’s No. 3 seed and world No. 13, with whom the previous record is two wins apiece.

Bad defeat instead for the Florentine, who had started well going immediately ahead by a break and holding it until 3-1, then però she lost five consecutive games and the first set. Same identical script in the second set, with Martina ahead 2-0 and then six games in a row in favor of Rodionova who thus brought home the match after not even an hour and a half of play.
