The words of Alberto Malesani

The former Parma coach among others, Alberto Malesani, gave a long interview to the microphones of Radio TV Serie A with RDS in which he also revealed a backstory about his experience with the ducali. "Moreù than Calisto Tanzi, I was convinced by the knowledge that in Parma I would have made the qualitative leap – he admitted – These are passing trains. However, I think I behaved well: before Parma, Bologna had appeared with President Gazzoni Frascara and I had not made written agreements with them, but almost and they did not take my change of mind very well, forò Tanzi helped me in making them understand my decision. Relations improved when I coached and saved Bologna in a nightmarish season and then the climate returnedò relaxed.

"The formation of Parma was almost poetry – added the former coach -, the lineup I remember by heart: I played with three defenders, I moved Nesta from halfback to defender with Cannavaro next to him, there were Fusar, Benarrivo, Vanoli, Dino Baggio, Veron, … a coach must always be attentive to the character of the player, not put brakes where they are not needed and leave the necessary space. I advise young coaches to give weight to the characters of individual players to put them on the field with knowledge. With three or four players with weight, that team could become a team like Liverpool".

"The character of the Parmesans è like this: some dissatisfaction at first, leaving the city with the regret of not winning the Scudetto, but with the affection and esteem that I find in each of them when I meet them. è it was a rare feat: 3 cups in 100 days" concluded Malesani on his adventure in Gialloblù.
