Napoli: Zielinski ruled out, De Laurentiis explains
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis spoke on the eve of the match against Verona explaining Piotr Zielinski's exclusion from the Champions League list: "We have to take into account the various components that are restrictive not because of us but because UEFA establishes fewer appearances than in the domestic league. So, since we made new signings and I feel sorry for a midfielder we had to give up, we also had to give up Zielinski".
"We know him, we know what he can give. Instead, depending on the next annuality, I have to figure out who I took permanently and who I took optionally. Because I need to see them play. I read that someone had doubted that there was some kind of payback or some kind of vindictive action against Zielinski. Absolutely not: I have already stated that he è a very good guy, a level player".
"The choices have been made, since he è outgoing becauseé from July 1 heé will no longer be with us, we have to open a window on what are the possible opportunitiesè of entry and whether to confirm them, bring them forward or not. We have Traorè who has options to be redeemed, as well as for Dendoncker. And for the latter there was no room and we had to sacrifice him too".
