Atalanta from Champions, Lazio sinks under De Ketelaere’s blows

Atalanta defeats Lazio 3-1 in the Sunday match at 6 p.m. valid for the twenty-third round of Serie A: a match controlled rather easily by the men of Gian Piero Gasperini, who already in the end of the first half solved the practice and then extended the lead in the middle of the second half, going on to win three very important points in one of the direct clashes for fourth place.

The intensity put on the pitch by the Nerazzurri è demonstrated already by the yellow card shown against Mario Pasalic on 9' the Croatian, however, made up for it almost immediately by his fanciers by sealing the lead on 16' with a beautiful conclusion from inside the area on Giorgio Scalvini’s feed.

Lazio, shaken, suffered for the entire first half the superiority at the level of race of the opponents, who doubled a few minutes from the interval: è the 43', in fact, when Charles De Ketelaere made it 2-0 by scoring a penalty kick awarded by the match director, Marco Guida, for a hand of Marusic in the area.

On the other side there are Hateboer and Scamacca, also from 64', in place of Holm and Miranchuk and basically the match does not change register: indeed è still Atalanta to score, at 76', again with De Ketelaere, who after skipping Pellegrini concludes on net and beats Provedel for 3-0.

In the final Gasperini inserted Muriel and Toloi for De Ketelaere and Pasalic, and at 84'84' came from the other side the flagship goal: it was signed by Ciro Immobile, on a penalty awarded for a foul by Djimsiti on the same biancoceleste striker. For the guests è however, it was too little too late: after 4 minutes and change of recovery (during which the class of 2006 Leonardo Mendicino also entered the field, for Atalanta, in place of Ederson) the triple whistle sanctions a success that brings the Nerazzurri to fourth place with 39 points, while Lazio remains in eighth place, paired with Fiorentina, at a share of 34.
