Both were beloved but unlucky in Maranello, but now they believe the Cavallino will makeà a bang.

Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari convinces two familiar faces from Maranello’s past, as they were behind the wheel of the Rossa for several seasons at the turn of the '80s and '90s. And that the number 44 can do extremely well under the Cavallino insignia is affirmed by two historic number 27s: Nigel Mansell and Jean Alesi.

The latter in particular didn't hide in an interview with the French newspaper 'Nice Matin', using decidedly important terms in framing Ferrari's signing of Hamilton. "È Formula 1’s coup of the century. To put a seven-time world champion under contract after a unique career with Mercedes è something fantastic. And I don’t think this decision was born yesterday, nor do I think Lewis is going to Maranello to make up the numbers. He definitely believes in the project", said Alesi.

Also very interesting were the words of Mansell, the last Englishman in Ferrari before Hamilton (British, but Northern Irish, was Eddie Irvine) and above all world champion in 1992 at the age of 39. " I won at that age, so to those who claim Hamilton is too old I remember my world championship. And I would add that I could still have won if politics had not come into play. Verstappen will do everything to stop him, of course, but I think Lewis has every chance to win another world championship. Also becauseé he has realized a dream, and going to Ferrari è everything", told 'BBC Sport' the man who in 1989 broughtò the legendary number 27 to the track.
