Tom Bialaszewski extols his team after passing the round
It was a festive evening for Varese Basketball, which beat Oradea 103-96 on the Romanian team’s parquet, thus placing second in FIBA Europe Cup Group N, a result that is worth qualification to the quarterfinals. The success è came on a comeback, with the red-and-whites able to come back from -16 to get to the success dragged by Hanlan’s 29 points, Brown’s 17 and Mannion’s 16.
At the end of the game, Tom Bialaszewski explained the key to the success: "It was a battle – he told official club channels -, they started with great aggressiveness, they shot better than us in the first quarter. We realized that we had to focus more on defense, then a few shots that did not è enter in the first minutes started to enter, we overcame them soì".
"It was a tough game in a tough environment,” added the American coach, “those who lost knew they were going home. The boys held their own after the bad start and stayed in the game, fighting until the end. It's an important victory, also becauseé we had started the round with two losses".
"We managed to come back and play everything in this game,” Bialaszewski further explained, “meanwhile the results of the other games helped us and in the end è it went well. The boys però were up to the challenge: there will be more games like this from here on, I hope nights like this can give us confidence".
