Atalanta unstoppable with Genoa at Ferraris, Dea increasingly fourth
Fourth place confirmed, as the Belgian’s moment of exceptional form.
Atalanta was also unstoppable at the Ferraris, where against Genoa they picked up their fourth consecutive victory in Serie A (but their first away win since October 30) and confirmed their fourth place in the standings, which at the end of the year would mean a return to the Champions League. For Gian Piero Gasperini’s men it ends 4-1, and once again among the protagonists stands out a definitely revitalized Charles De Ketelaere.
The guests started strongly, without però being able to unlock the result with Holm, Scamacca and De Ketelaere. Then è the Belgian himself came into his own on 23', picking up Pasalic's assist with his right and then flinging the ball into the net with a deadly left-footed shot. The mood on the field turned on (one caution for the hosts, two for the guests), then after a further danger created by De Ketelaere it was Vasquez and Retegui who engaged Carnesecchi.
Genoa è in the match, and proved it with a rocket start in the second half: after two chances by Retegui and one by Frendrup, the equalizer arrived at 51' and was signed by the great former on the field. It is Malinovskyi, who receives from Badelj and beats Carnesecchi with the house specialty: the left-footed shot from distance. Atalanta, however, did not let themselves be frightened and took the lead back as early as 55' thanks to a perfect free kick by Koopmeiners. The trio seemed to arrive at 76' with a tap-in by Scalvini, but Var detected offside after a check near the 10-minute mark. This justifies a record recovery, which allows the guests to ramp up: after a miracle by Carnesecchi on Gudmundsson, in fact, at 100' Zappacosta triples on a counterattack and even at 103' El Bilal Touré scores by header, excellently served by Miranchuk and making his absolute debut in Serie A.
