Italy defeated without appeal in Ireland: 36-0
A round defeat without appeal.
Italy bent by an unstoppable Ireland in the Azzurri’s second outing at the 2024 Six Nations. In Dublin, the hosts imposed themselves with the result of 36-0, accelerating after the first 20 minutes in which Michele Lamaro and his teammates had at least tried to resist defensively. Next engagement is scheduled for Sunday, February 25, at home to France.
The start of the match looks promising for Italy, constantly in the rival half of the field but unable to score when Paolo Garbisi goes for the posts from 30 meters and from a not impossible position. Only on 7' comes Crowley’s first goal (with transformation then wrong). The Azzurri hold, but only until 23' when comes another goal with Sheehan: then Crowley scores. At 37' è then Conan to sign the third goal for the partial 19-0 with which Ireland closes the first half.
After the rest è Ireland domination: at 49' Sheehan scores another goal for 24-0, then at 61' è Lowe’s turn (while Italy è also in temporary numerical inferiority for a yellow card to Menoncello. At 77' è Nash then scored the sixth goal for the hosts, while the Azzurri in fact no longer came out of their own 22 meters.
