After the heavy defeat suffered against Lazio in the previous round, Cagliari è awaits an important direct clash in the salvation key against Gabriele Cioffi's Udinese, which defeated Allianz Stadium in the last round of the championship. A few days before the match, the islanders’ coach Claudio Ranieri, among the various topics discussed in the press conference, wanted to reveal some behind-the-scenes events that occurred in the post-match of the challenge with the biancocelesti.

"After the defeat I spoke to the team, a shake-up was needed. I told them that I would resign, but the team è opposed it. Everyone conveyed to me their will to keep fighting, so we will give our all to accomplish this mission. It was the players who asked to go to the retreat and today, in fact, they will stay here" began the islanders’ coach.

"I think few people after Sunday’s game would have had the support of their players. I was really giù but they charged me, they told me that we should fight together until the end and so we will do. I would also like to thank the square, as the fans are exceptional and have always been there for us" continued the former Leicester coach.

"We will face a very physical team, which plays well vertically. They're healthy and they come from a great win against a big one, but we will try to give our best to bring home a positive result" added the former Roma coach about Udinese.

"Sometimes because of the eagerness to want to do well, we fail to lead matches. I am afraid we are losing our compass. The boys err in having too much love for the team, but they forget balance. It&#39s fine to be balanced, but we must not uncover ourselves. We can't afford to go overboard with generosity this year. That more than we could afford in Serie B, in the top flight we can&#39t; Claudio Ranieri commented.
