Fiorentina, Vincenzo Italiano goes down flat: “We are not in trouble”
Despite the setback in the derby, support for the team è unchanged.
Vincenzo Italiano sees a healthy Fiorentina, despite the braking in the derby against Empoli drawn 1-1. After the away match at Castellani, which further distances the Viola (now seventh in the Serie A standings) from Europe, his post-match words are in fact all about confidence in his team.
"Today we played much better than several of our other away performances,” Italiano told the microphones of 'DAZN'. Then every game is played for the three points, and you always have to do better than the previous game. We did very well in the first half, then our victory è faded because of carelessness. And from my players I don’t look for answers, becauseé we are not in trouble".
Italiano then responded to a question regarding Joe Barone's dissatisfaction with his Fiorentina team's recent results. "At the moment we have three points less than in the first round. We need more balance, to get back to those levels. We need to pick up our game, but I have seen steps forward. On Empoli's goal we slept, and in other situations we did badly as well. But I am holding on to a first half that I è enjoyed very much", said the lily-headed coach.
