Neither winners nor losers in Empoli and Udine
Empoli-Fiorentina 1-1, Udinese-Cagliari 1-1
Both end in a draw, and both with the result 1-1, the matches of the twenty-fifth day of Serie A with kickoff at 3 p.m. on Sunday: no winners but also no losers both in the Tuscan derby, which saw Empoli host Fiorentina, and in the challenge in the hot zone of the standings between Udinese and Cagliari.
At the Castellani è Fiorentina to take the lead, at 29': Mandragora serves Beltran, who has time to turn and pass Caprile with a precise diagonal. The equalizing goal arrives at 56' and it is signed by Niang: the former, among others, of Milan and Torino does not miss the penalty kick awarded by referee Pairetto for a foul in the area of Faraoni on Cancellieri. Fiorentina believes in it until the last (Walukiewicz decisive with an intervention on the line in full recovery), but fails to snatch the success from the biancazzurri, at the fifth consecutive useful result.
At the Bluenergy Stadium, instead, everything happens in the first half: Udinese goes ahead after 14' with a beautifully crafted goal scored by Zemura after an exchange with Ehizibue, while the islander equalizer arrives at the sunset of the first half, more precisely at 44', when the ball crossed by Augello finds the head of Gaetano and passes Okoye. Intense resumption, Cagliari very close to the goal again with Gaetano at 68', but the ball does not go in: at the end of the match there will be one point for each of the contenders.
Of the four teams involved in the two matches, the best ranked remains, and there was no doubt about it, Fiorentina, which rises to 38 points. The others remain in the fight not to be relegated: Udinese goes to 23, Empoli to 22, Cagliari to 19, the only one of the lot actually in the relegation zone.
