Bitter debut for Lorenzo Sonego in Doha, Kotov wins

The Italian tennis player, in fact, è was defeated at the debut by Russian Pavel Kotov with the score of 6-2 6-4, in one hour and forty-nine minutes of play at the end of a match however closed among a thousand regrets for the blue, who had in control the second fraction.
The match immediately went uphill for Sonego, who immediately lost his serve in the opening and then with Kotov doubling break in the third game, quickly taking a 4-0 lead. The Italian managed to get back on his feet by winning the fifth game, after nullifying three 5-0 balls, but the Russian still easily closed out the first partial on 6-2.
In the second set, the trifles switched to the side of the Piedmontese, who managed to take an immediate 3-0 lead. Then, in the fourth game, Sonego failed as many as six break points to double the break, and from that moment the Russian was back in control of the match. After averting a possible 4-0 disadvantage, the Russian manages to come back and in the ninth game he places the decisive break thanks to an error by the Italian. Kutov closes 6-4 and detaches the pass for the second round.
For Lorenzo Sonego, on the other hand, it was the second consecutive elimination in the first round, as he also surrendered in the Rotterdam ATP 500 on his debut against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov with a score of 7-6 6-3.
