Reduced by the bitter elimination in the semifinals in Buenos Aires, but already ready for the rematch in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Alcaraz spoke in a press conference precisely about the relationship with Sinner and the point reached by their sports rivalry: "I am very happy for Jannik,” he said, “he is winning tournaments and he deserves it, è one who works hard to achieve these results".
"As for me, I try to look at his successes in a positive way, as a stimulus for me. Alcaraz’s Olympic dream
Whether it is against Sinner or other champions of the racket, Alcaraz still wants to come back to reassert himself after a somewhat dull period, in a season full of prestigious appointments: "2024 è an exciting year,” explained the 2003-born tennis player, “there are the Olympic Games among other things. I have to try to keep my concentration very high".
"Before the Games, however, there will be important tournaments and difficult matches, which will have to be played at the highest possible level,” Alcaraz further added. “Certainly the prospect of fighting for an Olympic medal appeals to me, but I want to win all the tournaments I take part in, especially the Masters 1000 and Slam tournaments".
A difficult start to 2024
This season Carlos Alcaraz has yet to impress: on the court for the first time in 2024 at the Australian Open, the Murcian è climbed all the way to the quarterfinals, where he però è was defeated by Sascha Zverev.
