Franco Morbidelli will beà at the start in the Gp of Qatar

The frightening crash during MotoGp testing in Portimao in late January è fortunately behind us: Franco Morbidelli è ready to return to the track although, given the forced absence from the track in the last pre-season event in Bahrain, he will be forced to do so directly in Qatar for the first weekend of the season of the Motomondiale 2024, which will culminate with the Grand Prix at the Lusail circuit on Sunday, March 10.

Franco Morbidelli: "I still apologize for the scare"

Speaking to 'Sky Sport', the new Pramac Racing rider first explained how he is now: "I would first like to apologize again for the scare I gave fans, family and friends. So many people were worried about me after the accident. I am fine now but I really took a big risk".

"In the end – the Italo-Brazilian explained again – è everything went well, the doctors gave the'ok to race and I am happy because Ié will be able to ride my new bike alreadyà in the first race weekend. For sure, the tests would have been useful to better adapt to the Ducati but already; being back in the paddock è a very good sign".

"Marc Marquez and his brother Alex told me so'è happened"

Returning to talk about the accident, Morbidelli emphasized the importance of the immediate intervention of Marc Marquez and his brother Alex, who stopped to provide the very first aid: "I don&#39t remember anything about that moment and I was curious to hear from them how the events had gone: their story è touching on the one hand, but also a little bit splattering. I thanked them from the bottom of my heart, I went to the track to see them".

However, the rider who came to Ducati from Yamaha is not afraid that the scare will affect his approach to returning to the track: "I am calm from this point of view,” he explained, “I remember absolutely nothing about the accident, I don&#39t think I will be afraid when I get back on the bike. I am just a little envious of seeing others ride, that sì".

"Can't wait to get back in the saddle"

"Clearly I have to be very careful and è that&#39s why I&#39m not on the track for testing – Morbidelli said again. However, I feel capable and I can&#39t wait to get back in the saddle. These bikes are really fascinating and then whoever rides them really goes very strong, to see the tests from the outside makes everything even moreù impression".
