Piero Ausilio Could Be Back in the Game Right Away: Contacts with a Top Club

Piero Ausilio’s future could lie with Tottenham, although at the moment this scenario is still very much up in the air. According to the Corriere dello Sport, on newsstands Sunday, initial contact has been made between the former Inter sporting director and the London club, and the possibility of him joining the Premier League is real, but further steps will be needed to reach a potential agreement.

On the other hand, just over ten days have passed since Ausilio’s departure from Inter, which came about through a mutual agreement. This brought to a close a relationship that lasted a full 28 years, during which the executive held various positions within the Nerazzurri club, spending the last 12 as sporting director.

Now Tottenham is in the picture, although discussions between the parties have not yet resulted in an agreement. Should the deal go through, it would mark the first professional experience outside of Italy for the executive, born in 1972, following a career spent entirely at Inter that concluded at the end of the last summer transfer window.

Tottenham, led by head coach Roberto De Zerbi, is aiming to bounce back on the international stage after a particularly difficult season, in which the team managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League only on the final matchday.
