The pride of Jannik Sinner: "100% Italian"

Jannik Sinner, fresh winner of the Rotterdam ATP 500 and new world number three, gave a lengthy interview to the microphones of Vanity Fair in which he also claimed his origins: "I have always felt Italian, and I am very proud to be Italian: when I was 7 years old I was doing ski championships with Italian kids, when I was 14 in Liguria my classmates were Italian. But then, we speak our German dialect, but even in Sicily they speak a dialect that in other parts of Italy they don’t understand, do they?”

"Example for young people? È a difficult question – admitted the South Tyrolean tennis player -. I play tennis, some people like me and some don’t. For some I should be more confident, while others appreciate my humility. I know that I treat all people equally: whether I have in front of me the number 1 ranking player or the person who cleans the locker room, I always behave equally, politely".

So the azure made it clear about having residence in Monte Carlo: "The Principality è a very safe place, there are many tennis players I can train with, perfect courts, beautiful facilities. I always thought it could be a good place to live".
