All'Inter won the Scudetto of records with Trap

As reported by Bild, è Andreas Brehme has died. The 1990 World Champion è passed away in the night between Monday and Tuesday, in Munich, probably from cardiac arrest. Despite being admitted to the emergency room, there was nothing to be done for the 63-year-old former world soccer star. He leaves behind his current partner Susanne Schaefer and two children from his ex-wife.

Andreas Brehme è was one of the best full-backs of the '80s and '90s. In the summer of 1988, è he was bought by Inter Milan. Together with national teammate Matthaus, è he was one of the draggers of the team led by Giovanni Trapattoni that won, in the 1988/89 season, the famous Scudetto of records. In the Nerazzurri jersey (four seasons total), he will also win an Italian Super Cup (1989) and a Uefa Cup (1990-1991).

However, the highest moment of his brilliant career è related to the 1990 World Cup final. With a handful of minutes left in the final against Diego Armando Maradona's Argentina, he è sealed, from 11 meters, the goal that gave the World Cup to then-West Germany. After his retirement from soccer (1998), he had devoted himself to a coaching career but with little luck.
