Sara Gama’s last game in blue on Friday with Ireland
Venerdì with Ireland the last game in the blue of Sara Gama
Second training session in Coverciano for the Azzurri ahead of the two friendly matches against Ireland (Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Viola Park in Florence) and England (Tuesday in Algericas, Spain).
Valentina Giacinti, who was stopped for physical reasons, has returned to her home club: in her place Miriam Longo, who thus joins the group of the senior national team, while remaining in Coverciano where she was in training camp with the Under 23.
Friday will be the last game on the national team for Sara Gama, Italy’s historic captain and the fourth player of all time in terms of appearances on the Azzurri, who will touch 140 national team appearances at Viola Park. Those who shared so many years with Gama, both in the club and on the national team, è Cecilia Salvai, a wardmate as well as a teammate.
"The camp really bonded us,” Salvai emphasized, “It displaced us but Sara è good at making us surprises. Such a decision must not be easy, but I see her as serene. She will forever remain unique and irreplaceable, and she deserves all our support these days".
Finally a joke about the upcoming friendly on Friday against Ireland: "È a very head team, especially from the physical point of view". A comment also shared by Giada Greggi: " we are però going through a positive period and we hope it will continue" highlighted the Roma midfielder.
