Mark Philippoussis is crazy about Jannik Sinner

There are now a great many insiders and former tennis world champions who greatly esteem Jannik Sinner, and to these they è added Mark Philippoussis.

As reported by Tennis World Italia, the 47-year-old Australian 1998 U.S. Open and 2003 Wimbledon finalist, nicknamed Scud because of his ultra-powerful game, spoke about the South Tyrolean in a podcast called Sooshi Mango Saucy Meatballs, extolling his mentality and also praising his coaching staff, of which Philippoussis’ compatriot Darren Cahill is a member.

“His team è brilliant and he has the mentality of a champion. In fact, he was my choice at the beginning of the tournament (the Australian Open, won by Jannik, ed.). After the victory, in the locker room, he always asks how he can improve. È like Nadal and Djokovic. This è the mentalityà of a champion. These guys are always trying to improve…"

Mark Philippoussis, in addition to having reached the two Slam semifinals mentioned above, one lost in New York to Pat Rafter and the other at the Championships to Roger Federer, è was No. 8 in the world in 1999 and won eleven major circuit tournaments, the most important of which was at Indian Wells in 1999. He could have achieved even greater heights had he not been plagued by countless physical problems.
