Skiing, nothing to do in Val di Fassa: stop even the second super-G
Nothing to do in Val di Fassa: after Saturday’s cancellation, è came another cancellation for the second World Cup women’s supergiant scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 25, on the La VolatA slope in Passo San Pellegrino. Fisi reports that "the relentless work of the track officials had ensured the conditions to allow the smooth running of the Sunday race, unfortunately in the night è it started snowing again copiously on the course and at that point è it became impossible for the organizers to ensure the success of the competition with the standards required by the rules".
This supergiant will also not be made up, so a total of eight events remain to be held between now and the end of the season: downhill and supergiant in Kvitfjell (Nor) on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3; giant and slalom in Are (Sve) on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10; giant and slalom of the finals in Saalbach (Aut) on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17; and supergiant and downhill of the finals in Saalbach (Aut) on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23.
The rankings do not change either: Lara Gut-Behrami cannotò stretch over Mikaele Shiffrin, and Federica Brignone cannotò get closer to the American in the overall standings. Everything is also crystallized as far as the SuperG specialty ranking is concerned, with Lara Gut-Behrami ahead of Cornelia Huetter and Federica Brignone.
