George Russell pays tribute to Lewis Hamilton
With only a few days to go before the start of the new F1 season, Mercedes driver George Russell, among other topics, has è spoken out in no uncertain terms about his teammate Lewis Hamilton and his decision to leave the Brackley-based team at the end of next season in favor of Ferrari.
"So far nothing has è changed, I think everyone is professional, we all have our jobs and the engineers are just motivated to build the fastest car and also Lewis è still motivated to do the best job possible" began the British driver as quoted on "FormulaPassion".
"It will be interesting months to see what happens next, but as far as I am concerned, I have had the opportunity to be the teammate of what is probably è the greatest driver of all time for the past two years and I have no concerns about who will be alongside me; whether it is an experienced or a young one, I personally feel that I am in an ideal position to take the team forward and start its next chapter" continued the'former Williams.
"I think it is important for any team to have good harmony among the drivers, because it affects all the engineers and the whole team, but in the end the decisions are up to Wolff and the board we have already had many discussions and I have been with Toto a lot this winter. È it was quite funny and interesting to see the names of the drivers appear on his phone, but as a team we are in a’very good position to move on to the next chapter" concluded George Russell.
