A new addition to the staff of Reyer Venezia

Reyer Venezia has announced the hiring of Marco Palumbo as its new mental coach. Born in Ferrara on March 4, 1956, from a young age he moved to Mestre where he grew up basketball in the youth teams of Basket Mestre and Reyer Venezia. His first experience as a professional player was in Brescia where he played for seven years. He then returned to Reyer from 1981 to 1983 and then went to Trieste and again to Brescia, where he closed his career.

After finishing his playing career he studied at Syracuse University and, at the turn of the new millennium, earned a degree in Neurolinguistics and Neuroscience. In 2001 he moved to Germany, to Dusseldorf, where he coaches the under-14s at the International School. In 2016, after several mental coaching courses, he obtained his international certification, thanks in part to the support of Brad Benson, friend and former teammate at Brescia.

He worked for three years with the German Basketball Federation, World Champions, and currently works with several NBA and Euroleague players.

"I am really pleased to be able to collaborate with Reyer – said Marco Palumbo to the official channels of the orogranta club – Joining a club was a goal of mine and è a privilege to do it with Venice, a very ambitious company. I have always been passionate about coaching, ever since I played. The psychology of the athlete and the person has always intrigued me, so much so that I consider my mother the first mental coach of my career: she transferred to me the passion to help my teammates in the dysfunctional moment when they could not express themselves".

"The experience in America has enriched me so much, but I try to learn daily becauseé in life you never stop learning. I am charged and eager to make my contribution and I thank the companyà and the Reyer ownership and President Federico Casarin for this opportunityà" concluded Palumbo.
