Lewis Hamilton reveals a backstory on Ferrari's deal
A few days before the start of the new F1 season in Bahrain, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, during an episode of the BBC Podcast "F1 Back at Base", è returned to talk about his decision to leave the Brackley-based stable to settle with Ferrari starting in 2025, revealing further backstory about the news that has shocked the entire F1 circus.
"I never talked about it with anyone. I didn't even tell my parents until the day of the announcement. So, no one was aware of my intentions. I really wanted to do it for myself. I had to find out what would be best for me" began the British driver as quoted by "Sky Sports".
"It's all happened very quickly. Basically I had known Vasseur for a long time. As for me, I was excited for the new year, but without knowing what the future would hold for me and without knowing how long I would be racing again, but knowing that I felt super motivated and excited to keep racing and get back on track" continued the seven-time world champion.
"When the opportunity" è came up I said to myself, 'Ok I have to think about it for a minute'. I didn't have a lot of time to think, I had to follow my instincts and I decided to jump at this opportunity" Lewis Hamilton commented.
