Luciano Spalletti, surprising words about Jannik Sinner
Italian national team coach Luciano Spalletti at RAI microphones è returned to praise Jannik Sinner, not so much for his undoubted tennis skills, but for his human qualities. "If Sinner had been a footballer, he would have been a likely captain of our national team", are the strong statements of the Azzurri coach, who hopes that the example of the South Tyrolean tennis player can also inspire the behavior of the boys of the national team.
In a recent interview, Spalletti again had confessed his esteem for Jannik: "He has that simplicity, humanity, that being a quiet boy who has made work and humility his greatest strength. We will want to talk to this guy, there will be things to absorb from him from which we will then all come out stronger".
Sinner is training ahead of the Indian Wells tournament in the United States: the goal è Carlos Alcaraz's No. 2 spot in the Atp ranking, behind only Novak Djokovic.
In 2023 Jannik Sinner lost in the semifinals of the U.S. tournament to the very rival Carlos Alcaraz, who was world number one at that time.
