At Red Bull, not everyone is as optimistic as Max Verstappen, who did not dramatize his sixth-place finish in free practice for the Bahrain GP. The Austrian team's other driver, Sergio Perez, does not share the same calm as the Dutch world champion after his 10th place in Thursday's free practice at Sakhir: the Red Bulls are not so superior to the others, for the Mexican.
"We heard many people say that we were a second ahead of everyone, a statement that made me smile becauseé I knew things would be much more balanced", explained Perez.
"These sessions have been important, we have a lot to explore on the car, which we didn’t have a chance to do during testing, so we’re doing that now with the mechanical balancing. The good thing è that whatever we do seems to be going in the right direction on race pace".
