Carlos Sainz fastest in third free practice in Bahrain, Charles Leclerc also in top 5
FP3 Gp Bahrain: Carlos Sainz ahead of Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen
After struggling in the first day of free practice for the Bahrain GP, Ferrari beats a shot in FP3 with Carlos Sainz, who recorded the fastest time of 1:30.824, ahead of compatriot Fernando Alonso and reigning champion Max Verstappen, who were 141 and 238 thousandths apart, respectively. Good leap forward also for Charles Leclerc, who closes the session in fourth place. Completing the top 5 is the McLaren of Lando Norris.
Complicated day, however, for the Mercedes, which after dominating FP2, do not go beyond the sixth time with George Russell and Lewis Hamiton’s 12th. Completing the top 10 are the other McLaren of Oscar Piastri, Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin).
